Most international visitors must apply for a visa to enter the U.S. It is imperative to make application well in advance of travel. The U.S. Department of State provides explicit instructions on how to apply for a visa. They also provide online application forms. Click here for complete information.
Citizens of Canada whose sole purpose to enter the United States is to attend the UNAA Convention are allowed to enter the U.S. as a B-1 Temporary Business Visitor without an actual visa. To cross the U.S. border, you must produce evidence of identity and Canadian nationality, residence in Canada, intent to depart the U.S., and/or documentation describing the business purpose of your travel. If you are a non-Canadian residing in Canada and not a citizen of a visa-waiver country, you will need a visa. Follow this link for more information.
Travelers coming to the U.S. from visa waiver countries for business purposes, 90 days or less, may be eligible to visit the U.S. without a visa. Currently, 27 countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. All other travelers must have a visa to enter the U.S. Click here for more information.
Letters of Invitation
UNAA will issue letters of invitation to international registrants who need one. It is important to fill out the registration information carefully and correctly because names and addresses for letters of invitation will be taken directly from the registration form.
Individual Use Only
The invitation letter is for each individual's use only and is not transferable. The organizers of the UNAA conventions will not issue blanket, group or family letters. The letter is for registered international attendees and exhibitors/vendors only. Full registration costs and exhibition/vendor payment MUST be received by prior to invitation letter issuance.
Visa Wait Times
The requirements and amount of time needed to obtain a U.S. visa will vary from country to country. We recommend that you obtain your visa no later than 3 weeks from the event. Last-minute visa applications run the risk of not being approved in time for the event.
Travel Documents & Attendance Requirements
It is the responsibility of each individual traveler to ensure that he or she is correctly documented for travel prior to coming to the United States for the UNAA Convention events. It is expected that the invitee will cover all expenses including airfare, food, ground transportation, insurance and lodging during their visit to the U.S.
